Drawings

In a patent/patent application it is recommendable to look at the drawings and the detailed description simultaneously. If the aim of your search is determining patentability, the drawings and the detailed description are equally important. However, the drawings are often not relevant if the aim of your search is finding out if others are entitled to exclude you from doing something (infringement purposes) as the claims might provide a broader protection than indicated by the drawings.
