Priority right
When filing a design application in Denmark, a priority right is established entitling the applicant to file a subsequent application for the same design in other countries not later than 6 months after filing the original application. Consequently, the prior art which is taken into account for examining the novelty of the design would not be everything made available to the public before the filing date of the subsequent application but everything made available to the public before the priority date, i.e. the date of filing of the original application. We recomend that you consider the possibility of filing foreign design applications early in the process.
