Description
This seminar is aimed at people wishing to make their own novelty and/or infringement searches. The seminar will be designed to meet the specific requirements of each participant. Duration: One day Proposed program
- General information on novelty and infringement searches
a. Patents and other documents, including articles from journals or websites.
b. Purpose, including an assessment of your inventions and patents held by
others.
c. The concept of 'global novelty' and the importance of the publication date. - Search tools including manual search tools and especially online patent databases.
a. The most important patent databases, e.g. Espacenet, USPTO,
WIPO, JPO og DKPTO, and how to set up different search profiles.
b. Different search strategies; ”Quick and Dirty”,
systematization, special strategies such as patent classification, quotations
and ”citated by”. - Cases: Course participants are engouraged to bring their own cases (please forward such cases to us beforehand).
