Description
The target group of this seminar is everyone having a need to read and understand the contents of a patent, i.e. assess the scope of protection of patents held by a company or its competitors. You can bring your own patents for review or we will find some interesting cases. Duration: Half a day Proposed program
- Formalia: Which formal information can always be found in a patent, where can such information be found, and what is it used for?
- Patent structure: How is a patent typically structured and how important are the various parts?
- Claims: How to understand the different types of claims (dependent and independent claims) and the different categories of claims (apparatus claims, method claims and use claims).
- Patent language: How to understand the most common patent phrases.
